Zane Foley was looking for a nanny for his six year-old daughter, Olivia. When Melanie Grandy was recommended by a friend, it was a blessing; Melanie just might be what Olivia needed. Zane had made it clear that Melanie was to stick to the program that he had set up for Olivia’s care and schooling. Melanie then learns that Olivia is living three and half hours away from her father in Austin, Texas. She wonder what a young child was doing so far from her father, but decide it was not her problem just taking care of the child was.
Melanie arrived in Austin in the afternoon and meets Olivia. Olivia was very shy and Melanie could see the child withdrew into herself, she also saw a great sadness in Olivia; It was something that Melanie had experienced herself as a child. Melanie decided to make Olivia’s life a little better anyway she could.
Crystal Green’s story is first in the series of “The Foleys & The McCords”. Zane Foley had buried himself into work after his wife’s death and he was afraid to love his child because he might get hurt again. Melanie had lived without a father and she knew that she had to find away to get this father and daughter together. Will Melanie this get family together before her secrets are discovered? I shed a few tears in reading this book, but it was worth every tear.
