Eli Cartwright had her life in order; she had a job she loved, a steady boyfriend, a cute little house for one, and she was starting menopause early. Life was good. Only, as it so happened, Eli was not starting menopause early; she was pregnant. How could this happen? Eli was a teacher who helped teach and council unwed teens get though school and hopefully into college. Now she would have to handle the situation first hand. The big question was how would her boyfriend react to the baby that they had never really talked about?
Zac Keller had liked Eli Cartwright for a long time; however poaching on another man’s woman was something he wouldn’t do. So when he found out that Eli had broken up with her boyfriend he was on top of the world. He knew something was bothering Eli but that didn’t matter, because in time to come he was going to make his move and that would hopefully cheer her up.
Eli liked Zac, and he was being very nice to her and a great friend but she was scared he would want more and that would probably not include a baby. What would he do when he found out?
Warning: Holly Jacobs can cause sleep deprivation! As with all of Ms. Jacobs books you start out “Oh, I will just start reading it before I go to bed, it will help me sleep”. Right. The next thing you know it is 11:30 at night and you have to find out what is going to happen before you can set the book down and sleep. The stories are well worth the lack of sleep and, hey, you can always sleep the next night. So get a copy of Unexpected Gifts and enjoy being tired.
